Outlook Express Mail Alert(OEMA) is an e-mail notification program. It is designed to easily inform or remind new e-mail in Microsoft Outlook Express. The software helps you monitor, remind your e-mail when necessary. The user can choose the specific mailboxes according to his preference; a normal notice will include sound, visual alert, and launching your e-mail client.
I was annoyed at first because it can only check mail if you have outook express open, so I thought it was basically useless. Then it occurred to me (duh!) that's what the "hide Outlook Expres" feature is there for. It's easy to tell when you get new mail and it seems to check it exactly when it's supposed to.
Cons
Even though Outlook Express is hidden, when the program goes to check email, Outlook Express will flash onto the taskbar for maybe half a second (I thought I was hallucinating at first because it's so brief). My only real gripe is that when you get new email and it alerts to that, it for some reason removes the number that appears next to the inbox that lets you know where the new mail is...not too big of a deal, but still a little annoying.
